KNOWIT ASSET MANAGEMENT

KAM (Know Asset Management) is a web application for inventory management at client sites. Due to complex operations, companies with a large number of locations (such as retail chains) find it difficult to track the movement and stock of their inventory within the network in real time. KAM enables transparent monitoring of inventory movements and status at all locations. Receipt and transfer from location to location is managed through application transactions, so there is a clear traceability of inventory movements.

The inventory hierarchy consists of three levels – categories, subcategories and groups. At each level of the hierarchy, user attributes of different types can be defined – numbers, quantities with a unit of measurement, dates, text input, fields with multiple choice of predefined values and likes. These user attributes are called UDAe (User Defined Attributes). Each piece of inventory in KAM belongs to a group in the hierarchy and carries the attributes of that group and its subcategories and categories. For example, one vertical section of the hierarchy might look like this:

Category: Electronics

  1. Attribute – Power consumption (kWh)

  2. Attribute – Type (active / passive / portable / other)

Subcategory: IT equipment

  1. Attribute – Warranty period (Date)

Group: Laptops

  1. Attribute – Processor (text input)

  2. Attribute – Number of USB slots (number)

  3. Attribute – RAM (GB)

When entering a new laptop in the inventory or updating an already entered laptop with such hierarchy, it is possible to enter a value for each attribute listed.

One or more floor plans can be entered for each location (in case the location has more floors or consists of several separate buildings) on which the inventory of that location can then be distributed.

KAM can still be used to easily search and retrieve items and locations, to separate items into different categories, import or export data, and integrate data with your ERP.
